Quilt #2
Dec 26, 12:00 PM
I finished this log cabin quilt December 22nd at 10:30 PM. It was out of the laundry at 11:30, photographed, folded and wrapped by midnight.
I do not like doing binding on a lap quilt in two days. My fingertip was really unhappy with me. However, I liked the result and Kesha liked the gift.

I’ve stolen Joanne’s idea of embroidering my hand on the back with pertinent information stitched on the inside of said hand. However, I have been mulling this over and feel kind of bad (just a smidge) for my theft and have been devoting a bit of brain power toward developing an alternative way to leave my “mark” on future quilts.
Ideas?
(An unfortunate side-effect of making a quilt gift for someone who then opens it in front of other people is that now the other people want one too.)

Wow! That’s gorgeous, Donnell!
As for personalizing quilts: how about outlining a tree – or an apple – or something else that you like or that would relate back to you? Alternatively, you could always do a simple applique that represents you or your life – for example, an outline of Texas or a D. Whatever you do, it appears you’re turning into quite a quilter. Congratulations!

Thank you. I like the “D”. I may go with that. I’m going to try a few things out on some scrape fabric and see what happens.
